However, betrayal can be both an excellent way to jump-start a vengeance plot or a great twist to a manga that shatters all the main characters held dear. If you are looking for a manga where the mc gets betrayed and goes dark then head on down below.

This manga where the mc gets betrayed and goes dark covers a master-slave relationship. The art is okay, and the characters are well presented. However, the story is a bit rushed and lots of chapters are full of nudity. if you’re more interested in the harem world, you may like this manga where the mc gets betrayed and goes dark.

9. Genkai Level 1 kara no Nariagari: Saijaku Level no Ore ga Isekai Saikyou ni Naru made
Takahashi Tetsuya was suddenly summoned to another world while on the way back from work. However, Tetsuya was only caught in the Hero’s summoning and his level cap was the lowest at 1. In this world, a low-level cap indicated that one was weak and would not survive! To add to his despair, he was thrown into a valley where a large number of monsters lived. At the brink of being killed, he gained the unique skills, “Assimilate Corpse”, allowing him to gain the skills of the dead bodies he touched! “…Isn’t this just great!” He decided to live on in this world and gain strength, to one day take revenge on those who summoned him.
It’s an isekai manga about a gamer getting transported to another world with stats that seem like trash but are actually completely overpowered. He goes on an adventure to get revenge on the people who treated him poorly because of his before-mentioned bad stats.
Furthermore, there is a very straightforward level/stats system, where a person’s stats increase as their level increases, except for the protagonist. This is a great manga where mc gets betrayed and goes dark and I enjoyed reading it. But unless you specifically like this type of manga, it may not be your cup of tea.
8. The Dungeon Seeker

After months of struggling to survive, Noriko and Kido trick Junpei into entering the “Sacrificial Labyrinth,” a dungeon filled with powerful monsters that no one has ever escaped from. Driven by revenge, Junpei ventures deeper into the labyrinth in search of an exit.
This is a great manga where the mc gets betrayed and goes dark. The art is enjoyable, easy on the eye, makes sense. Moreover, the characters are interesting. They set up the feeling for the characters really well. they don’t seem like they’re shoved into your face. which is a huge point for this kind of manga
Overall it’s well-executed. It’s a good manga to read if you are into those stories with a negative emotional atmosphere and rapid progressions.
7. Failure Frame: I Became the Strongest and Annihilated Everything With Low-Level Spells
Along with his entire class, Touka Mimori was summoned to another world by the Goddess Vysis. While most were ranked quite powerful, Touka was the weakest among them, so it was only natural that he be disposed of. Vysis’ first impression as a generous and loving woman soon gives way to her true, cruel nature, and she rallies his classmates against him, casting him into a cavernous labyrinth of death and despair.
Despite being the weakest, even he has a personal skill: “Abnormal State Skill.” This ability, combined with his low-level “poison” and “paralyze” powers, proves to be a deadly medley—hindering the movement of monsters, then letting poison whittle away at their health until they die without having a chance to fight back.
Gaining new abilities and companions along the way, Touka aims to exact revenge on that spiteful goddess who cast him into this hellscape.
This is one of the manga where the mc gets betrayed and goes dark. There is nothing to complain about regarding the artwork, the characters are well developed, and the mc is not so typical. He’s smarter and knows how to deal with difficult situations in a more logical way. if you like isekai manga then you’ll definitely like this one.
6. The Hero Who Seeks Revenge Shall Exterminate with Darkness
The foolish are conquered, and the kind is used—this is a universal truth that the hero Raul finally learns, with pain coursing through his veins and hands tied to a cross. Betrayed by the very humans he swore to protect, as fire consumes him and he takes his last breath, he swears vengeance against those who wronged him.
But even death offers no respite, and Raul is granted another chance at life with his power unsealed. All of the humans in the world are vile beings. An eye for an eye, Raul sets out to deliver his own form of divine retribution. For every inch of suffering inflicted on him and his loved ones, Raul will make them suffer tenfold. And so, no matter what it takes, he will have his revenge.
This manga where the mc gets betrayed and goes dark is good but it gets repetitive after a while, but the formula still works for enjoyment. Also, the fact that he is so OP works so better in the story you will get it when you read it. Moreover, the art is very well done some I would even say it is captivating.
Furthermore, the character development is where the author shines again the MC is not your typical angry revenge-seeking character. He is so likable the way he treats each situation each revenge so nonchalantly, to the fact that he is sadistic with no shit given. He is the pure embodiment of Chaotic Neutral. The manga has no other side character other than the MC and the Goddess. It is choked full of Antagonists which all can be summed up to evil just because and pathetic later on.
Overall, in my opinion, this is a revenge story that will have you grinned if you like sadistic and inhumane torture to the point that you will not care if this is justice or not as long as you get to see what he has planned for the next story. This manga where the mc gets betrayed and goes dark is for the person who loves anti-heroes and seeing a character actually go through with their revenge.
5. The Kingdoms of Ruin
Humanity long lived in harmony with witches, but an advanced scientific revolution has made the powers of a witch unnecessary. Succumbing to resentment and fear, the greatest nation in the world begins a brutal witch hunt and eliminates all witches from the land. After being forced to watch his beloved teacher die, Adonis, a witch’s apprentice, swears revenge on the empire that took everything away from him.
This manga where the mc gets betrayed and goes dark starts with a bang and then soon it goes downhill. With the amount of gore in 1st chapter, it will garner huge attention but soon it becomes uninteresting and useless when they add it too much without any good reasons and so the impact it gave in the first few chapters faded slowly in the later chapters. This soon turns the manga chaotic where there is a pointless bloodbath.
However, the art is great and the action scenes are also amazing but it quickly became monotonous later on. The only thing in the characters that is interesting was the relationship between the mc and the teacher but that was not discovered a lot at all. Overall It’s a bloody battle between science and magic in this thrilling manga series, give it a try, and let us know your opinion about it.
4. Nito’s Lazy Foreign World Syndrome
Hidako Masamune is a high school student who suffers from continuous bullying by his classmates. Becoming tired of it all, he decides to commit suicide, but instead, he is transported to another world along with all his classmates. When they arrive, they find that they now possess amazing abilities but he was only granted the status of a “healer,” the weakest skill of all. The king decides to get rid of him by transporting him to another faraway place, but not before Hidako swears revenge against the king, the kingdom, and all of his classmates.
This is an okay-level type of manga where the mc gets betrayed and goes dark. The manga almost has the same start as tate no yuusha the difference is just swap that shield class to healer class. Until now the story is pretty good the concept and the execution are not bad. Moreover, the art looks pretty clean to me and the artist seems improving in each chapter. The mc has a calm personality but strong and not asking for attention. Because he gets hated so much he gets used to it and more importantly, he’s choosing to make a decision based on his head rather than his heart. Overall it’s a good manga to enjoy your time with.
3. The Executed Sage Is Reincarnated as a Lich and Starts an All-Out War
The Sage Dwight, along with the Hero defeated the Demon Lord who sank the world into darkness. However, they were falsely accused of becoming the next Demon Lords because of his power and were thrown to The Valley of the Dead to die… But though his flesh has rotten away, he lives on as a skeleton because of his grudge against the world. Dwight has vowed to deny that wrong world, and with a power that surpasses even the Demon King of the past, and also leading countless Skeletons he’s going to start an all-out war…!
This manga where the mc gets betrayed and goes dark is about a sage who has saved the world alongside the hero but ended up getting betrayed by humanity. The sage then got revived as a skeleton or can be called a lich. Upon his revival, the sage now wants to get rid of the humans who have strayed into the wrong side by killing them.
The art is nice and the characters are okay. The story is somewhat common but the execution is a lot better from average terms. Overall, a fun manga I would recommend if you like an mc who is filled with anger.
2. Shut Hell
The Western Xia state at the beginning of the 13th century, when there were violent, ongoing incursions by the Mongol army. Guided by Suzuki, a student who has transferred from another school, a present-day boy called Sudo, a high school student who has been plagued by a vivid dream of a battlefield, is reborn as Shutohel, a female warrior for the Western Xia army, who has lived for vengeance on the Mongols and travels to the battlefield. At the same time, the Mongol prince Yurul defies his own army, which is trying to destroy the Western Xia script and makes plans to protect a collection of Western Xia writings.
Shut Hell is a unique manga that deals with many ideologies of historical and modern-day topics. It gives the reader another perspective on war, race, and life itself. Unlike other manga, Shut Hell is very realistic yet very idealistic at the same time. It delivers a striking display of art, presenting ideas that make the readers think. It conjures a clash between ideology and reality to focus on the bigger picture by viewing it through the smaller picture. A truly magnificent piece of art filled with a rich and powerful display of character and stature.
I would recommend people who are looking for something new and outside of manga norm to read Shut Hell. It is by far, one of the best manga where the mc gets betrayed and goes dark.
1. Übel Blatt
When Wischtech threatened to invade the fiefs of Szaalanden, the Emperor dispatched fourteen youths. Of these, the Seven Heroes halted the invasion to herald a time of prosperity while the four Lances of Betrayal were supposedly defeated.
Two decades later, the Lances of Betrayal have reappeared and formed a bandit militia near the frontier fief Gormbark. A man with the black sword and a scar over his left eye slay an entire troop of that militia. He is identified as a boy, Kóinzell, and becomes as much an object of fear as of hope even as his own past, motivations, and purpose are a mystery to those he meets in his travel.
This is the thing about Ubel Blatt you should note. The story is amazing, absolutely great, up until the second hiatus the author takes. It is a wonderful plot, thrilling and captivating enough to keep you on the edge of your seat. The heroes are the perfect villains, the stark contrast between Ascheritt’s warm memories of a friend who once was and the monster they are now is wonderfully portrayed.
Moreover, the manga keeps you hooked. You want him to kill those heroes who betrayed him and ruined his reputation, you want him to meet everyone who he knew once again. The MC is in a new form and people don’t recognize him, people who once admired or knew him as the great Blatt Master Ascheritt and it’s great when they do realize it’s him.
This is one of the best manga where the mc gets betrayed and goes dark. The art is pleasant to look at. Character designs are thought out and make named characters easily distinguishable. If you like the dark fantasy genre, then this is definitely worth your time.
